- Warm up your oven by setting it to 350°F (175°C).
- Split the pumpkin in half and scoop out all seeds and stringy bits.
- Lay the pumpkin halves cut side down on a baking sheet and bake them for 45 to 60 minutes until they become fork-tender.
- Take the pumpkin out and let it cool enough to handle, then scoop out the soft flesh and mash it until it's very smooth.
- In a big mixing bowl, stir together the mashed pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Add in the eggs, milk, and melted butter, beating until everything is well incorporated and smooth.
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and pour the pumpkin mixture into it, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool a little before serving.
