This tutorial guides you through creating a goth rocker makeup look, starting with a pale foundation base. Then you'll build dramatic smoky eyes with black, gray, and blue shadows, and add eerie vertical tear lines. Finish with black mascara and white waterline liner for an edgy, intense appearance.
Directions
- Start with a clean face and apply moisturizer, letting it dry completely so the makeup blends evenly and lasts longer. Then use a makeup sponge to apply a foundation that is several shades lighter than your natural skin tone, covering your entire face and down your neck. Blend thoroughly to achieve a pasty, gothic look, and set it with loose translucent powder, dusting off any excess.
- Heavily outline both upper and lower eyelids from corner to corner using a black eyeliner pencil. With a flat makeup brush, apply black eye shadow over the eyeliner to diffuse and blend into a smoky dark look. Then use a round shadow brush to apply gray shadow just above and below the black on both lids. Follow with dark blue eye shadow above the gray on the top lid and a small amount on the bottom. To enhance the dark, masculine vibe, use the rounded brush with a little gray shadow to shade the inner corners of your eyes up to your eyebrows.
- Using black liquid eyeliner, draw random vertical tear lines from the lower lash line. Blend them with a flat brush while the liner is still wet. Apply a coat of black mascara to ensure the eyes are dark all around. Finish by adding white eyeliner to the water line (the inside rim of the lower eyelid).
