This quick recipe turns canned cinnamon rolls into spooky Halloween treats. You'll unroll the buns, coil them into intestine-like shapes, and air fry until golden. A simple red-iced drizzle creates a gory “blood” effect that's perfect for Halloween parties.
Ingredients
Directions
- Take the cinnamon rolls out of their packaging and put the icing tub aside for later.
- If the buns are rolled, unroll each one and gently pull it into a long strip. If they are stamped, use a small knife to separate along the stamped lines so you can stretch each piece into a strip.
- Give the air fryer basket a light coat of non-stick spray. Then coil each strip loosely to mimic intestines, pinching the ends together to seal. Gaps between coils are fine since the rolls will expand.
- Set the air fryer to 300°F and cook the coils for 10 minutes.
- While those cook, blend the red gel food coloring into the reserved icing until you get a deep, rich red hue. The amount of dye needed depends on the brand you use.
- For a more realistic blood-like consistency, warm the icing in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds to thin it out.
- Carefully remove the finished cinnamon roll guts. If your air fryer basket has a removable tray, lift it out and slide the rolls off. Otherwise, break the coils into pieces and reassemble them on a serving plate.
- Drizzle the red icing over the guts in any pattern you like to give them a bloody appearance, then serve and enjoy.
