About this
A classic Halloween party feature on Kara's Party Ideas, showcasing Meghan Murray of Parker Grace Events' festive cookie-decorating celebration with a cute black-and-white palette. It lists the party's standout decor, food, beverage and activity ideas, plus vendor credits and the host's tips for scaling the party up or down. Photographs capture the table settings, balloon install, beverage bar, and cookie decorating details.
Tips
- Holidays at home may look different, but they should still be special and filled with lasting memories.
- The host framed the party as ALL TREATS, no tricks.
- Not a baker? Look for incredible bakers in your city — B.R. Sweets in the East Bay (CA) and her cookie kits were used here.
- Add Make Bake edible stickers, "Stickies", to a cookie kit to turn it into a cookie party.
- Pick out fun paper goods to step it up — the host's go-to is Ellie & Piper.
- Decorate your space with a festive burst of balloons; Oh How Charming offers DIY balloon garland kits that couldn't be easier.
- Going over the top is not always necessary — bake homemade cookies or buy them at the market, and put cookies out as-is if you prefer.
- Regardless of what the table looks like, children will remember the special time together.
- If extra is your love language and style, hiring a photographer is always a good idea.
The plan
- Decide how elaborate to go — the host notes that going over the top is optional and that the children will remember the time together regardless of the table's look
- If not baking yourself, source cookies from a local baker (B.R. Sweets in the East Bay, CA is named)
- Pick out fun paper goods (the host's go-to is Ellie & Piper)
- Decorate the space with a festive burst of balloons (Oh How Charming offers DIY balloon garland kits)
- Consider hiring a photographer to capture the moments (Laura Parker Photography did this shoot)
