Decorate with DIY mini pumpkin vases this Halloween

Directions

1. First, cut a circle around the stem of your mini pumpkin. To do this, lightly score the outline with a craft knife, then switch to a paring knife to cut deeper—just be careful not to pierce all the way through the pumpkin, as holes would leak water.
2. Remove the circular piece you cut out. Then, use a teaspoon to scoop out all the flesh and seeds from the inside, leaving a clean hollow cavity.
3. Paint the pumpkins with acrylic paints. For example, you can use antique white or create a grey-green by mixing lots of medium grey with a bit of black and some emerald green. Let the paint dry completely.
4. Fill each pumpkin with a little water. Arrange small flowers and foliage—like eucalyptus and baby's breath—and before placing them in the pumpkin, twist floral wire around the stems to keep them bundled together and upright.
