Transform your front porch into a Halloween scene with helium balloons. Make bat, spider, and ghost balloons, plus themed 'Trick or Treat' balloons. Use weights hidden by pumpkins and add a skeleton for extra flair.
You'll need
Directions
- Fill an 11-inch black latex balloon with helium. Using a template, cut bat wings out of black paper. Attach the wings to the balloon with a bit of clear tape, making a Bat Balloon.
- Inflate an 11-inch black latex balloon with helium. Take a black pipe cleaner and fold it in half, then bend both ends upward to form one pair of spider legs. Do the same with three more pipe cleaners. Secure the legs onto the balloon using clear tape, forming a Spider Balloon.
- Fill an 11-inch white latex balloon with helium. Using a black permanent marker, draw two eyes and a mouth for a ghost. Attach three strips of white party streamers to the bottom of the balloon with clear tape, creating a Ghost Balloon.
- Inflate two 11-inch orange latex balloons with helium. Either cut the phrase "Trick or Treat" from black vinyl using a cutting machine, or apply lightweight letter stickers. Place the letters onto the balloons to make Trick or Treat Balloons.
- Position the balloons on your front porch using balloon weights. Hide the weights by placing pumpkins over them.
- As an optional touch, set a skeleton in a rocking chair near the door and fasten the Trick or Treat balloons to its hands.
