Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at rebeccapropes.com.
This DIY Halloween party decor project guides you through creating bat and ghost cutouts, a "HEY BOO" cake bunting, and a textured yarn wall hanging on a birch log. Tassel ghosts and matching favor tags with googly eyes tie the whole look together for a festive, handmade celebration.
You'll need
Directions
- Using a Cricut machine, cut bat and ghost shapes from cardstock in your chosen palette of pink, gold, orange, and black.
- Assemble a "HEY BOO" cake bunting, bat-shaped cake picks, and a few ghost garlands by attaching the cut paper shapes to wood skewers and white twine.
- Place the paper decorations on a cake, add some candy corn for extra flair, and set the cake on a cute cake stand.
- For each color of yarn, cut 12 pieces measuring 48 inches long.
- Fold each yarn piece in half, loop the folded end around a birch log, and pull the loose ends through the loop to tighten. Repeat this process until the log is nearly covered.
- Create "tassel ghosts" from white yarn using a yarn and tassel maker tool.
- Secure the tassel ghosts by tying them near the top of the yarn wall hanging.
- Finish by adding matching printable favor tags adorned with googly eyes and mini paper bats to name cards, tying all the decor elements together.
