You'll need
Directions
- Take a sheet of cardstock (black works great) and fold it in half to create the card base.
- Run your finger along the fold to make it crisp and sharp.
- Cut two large circles from bright green paper. Glue the first one onto the front of the card.
- Fold the second circle in half and glue it onto the card as well, positioning it to form the monster's mouth.
- Press down firmly so the glue sets properly.
- Cut a smaller circle from red paper, fold it in half, and glue it inside the folded green circle to create the inner mouth.
- Cut teeth from white paper—triangles, squares, or any shape you like. Glue them inside the mouth so they peek out over the edge a bit.
- Close the monster's mouth. If desired, draw nostrils or other details, and attach a pair (or more) of googly eyes.
- Cut a pair of wings or tentacles from paper (we used blue wings). Attach them to your monster. Feel free to use horns, octopus-like tentacles, or anything else.
- Add a pair of legs—or even a dozen—to your monster.
- Open the card and write a note inside. Acrylic pens or chalk pens work well on black paper.
- Alternatively, cut a shape from brighter paper, glue it inside, and write your message on that.
