This easy Halloween dessert layers devil's food cake cubes with cherry pie filling and whipped topping. Marshmallow ghosts and pumpkins are pressed against the sides of the trifle dish for a festive look. Just assemble and chill for a show-stopping treat.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Bake the devil's food cake mix according to the box instructions using a 13x9-inch pan. Let it cool completely, then slice it into cubes.
  2. Separate the 12 marshmallow ghost Peeps. Arrange them around the inner wall of a trifle dish, pressing lightly so they stick to the glass.
  3. Add a layer of cake cubes into the dish, filling until it reaches the top of the ghost heads.
  4. Spread half of the 21-ounce can of cherry pie filling evenly over the cake layer.
  5. Separate the 12 marshmallow pumpkin Peeps. Line the dish sides with them, pressing against the glass.
  6. Add another layer of cake cubes, filling the dish to the top of the pumpkins.
  7. Spread the remaining cherry pie filling on top. Then spread the 8-ounce tub of whipped topping evenly over that.
  8. Cover the trifle dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate until you're ready to serve.
