Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at notyourmommascookie.com.
These girly zombie cookies start with a pumpkin-shaped base. You'll create royal icing transfers for the bows and pipe a green zombie silhouette, then add stitched lines with a food writer. The result is a spooky-sweet treat perfect for Halloween.

Directions
- Begin by preparing the bows. I made these ahead as royal icing transfers, though you can pipe them straight onto the cookie if you wish. For a bow template, find a clipart image you like online and print several copies on one sheet of paper. Slip the paper into a sheet protector; the protector keeps the paper in place while you work. Lightly grease the sheet protector with shortening.
- Using 20-second icing and a #2 tip, pipe a dot in the center of the bow—no outlining or flooding, just apply pressure in the middle until a nice dot forms. This 20-second consistency yields a pretty, 3D dot that stays smooth and doesn't flatten.
- Let the center dots dry about 1 hour. Then, using the same technique, pipe the rest of the bow. Allow the transfers to dry several hours, preferably overnight, before removing them.
- Outline the zombie girl silhouette on a pumpkin cookie with green icing using a #2 tip. I sketched my design and used a projector, but you could also cut the design from thin cardboard and trace it onto the cookie with a food writer.
- Flood the outlined area with green icing. Immediately place a royal icing transfer bow onto the wet icing and press down slightly.
- After the icing has dried, use a black food writer to add a couple of stitches for extra detail.
