About this
A featured Halloween party styled by Elicia Starkman of Los Angeles, blending glamorous and creepy elements for a small quarantine-era celebration in 2020. The page showcases a drip cake, decorated cookies, acrylic signage, glam balloon installs, fancy florals, glitter spider table settings, and skull and skeleton decorations. It also shares the host's story of throwing the party for her daughter's four-child learning pod and the games they played instead of trick-or-treating.
The plan
- Lean into quarantine for the theme when a normal Halloween isn't possible.
- Keep the guest list to children already exposed to one another: the host's daughter's learning pod of 3 other kids her age, plus the host's youngest daughter (5 children total).
- Set up the table first — once that was done, the other party pieces fell into place.
- Outsource key elements to vendors: balloons, treats, signage and florals.
- Plan games and a craft station, then finish with sweets and cake.
