From the original
Michael Myers has been held at Smith's Grove Psychiatric Hospital for forty years since his 1978 Haddonfield killing spree and is being moved to another facility. True-crime podcasters Aaron Korey and Dana Haines visit him, and Aaron shows Myers his mask without reaction. In Haddonfield, survivor Laurie Strode lives in fortified fear, estranged from daughter Karen, though granddaughter Allyson keeps contact. Myers escapes when his transfer bus crashes, killing two people. On Halloween he kills Aaron and Dana at Judith's grave, takes a mechanic's overalls, and recovers his mask. Allyson leaves a party after boyfriend Cameron cheats; Myers kills friends Vicky and Dave. Laurie sees Myers for the first time in forty years and shoots him. Obsessed psychiatrist Dr. Sartain, who orchestrated the escape, is killed by Myers, who also kills Ray. In the showdown, Myers stabs Laurie and throws her off a balcony, but she vanishes, echoing the original. Karen shoots him and the trio traps him in the safe room, burning the house. A post-credits scene implies Myers survived.
