This Halloween ghost makeup guide walks you through creating a pale, ethereal look with grayish-white foundation, dark eye shadows, and optional lip effects. From base application to sculpting and eye definition, you'll get all the details for a supernatural finish.
Directions
- Start by cleansing your face with your usual facial cleanser.
- If your skin tends to get oily easily, apply a toner or astringent now.
- Thoroughly pat your face dry.
- If you have long hair, secure it away from your face.
- Cover your entire face and any exposed neck area with a grayish-white face makeup.
- Use makeup sponges to apply this base color evenly over your face and neck.
- Do not apply any blush or rouge.
- For a more dramatic, sculpted look, take a matte gray eyeshadow and sweep it beneath your cheekbones, along the sides of your nose, around your jawline, and near your hairline.
- With an eyeshadow brush, apply a dark color to the inner corner area under your eye.
- Blend that dark shadow outward and downward.
- On the outer corner, add a lighter shade and blend it inward to meet the dark color, and also blend downward.
- To add depth to your eyes, line both upper and lower lash lines with black eyeliner. Make the line thicker in the middle of the lid for a rounder eye shape.
- Choose a lip color like black, blue, deep burgundy, or a nude shade topped with a blue-tinged lipstick or gloss.
- If you want your lips to seem to vanish, use a very light concealer all over them.
- For a cracked lip effect, apply a dry-textured concealer or a matte nude lipstick. Avoid prepping your lips with balm or exfoliation, as natural dryness and chapping will create the look without special effects.
