Halloween Makeup Tutorial: Butterfly

Directions

1. Take a wide brush and sweep face paint across the eyelid and up onto the forehead with broad strokes.
2. Then, using the same technique, paint wing strokes under the eye, starting at the inner corner and moving outward and downward.
3. Now, dip a small craft brush into orange paint and add highlights to the design.
4. Do the same again but with gold face paint to give each wing more definition.
5. Outline the entire makeup edge with black liquid eyeliner.
6. For extra highlights, load a small makeup brush with white face paint and randomly dot white onto each wing tip, directly over the black lines.
7. Add a white dot on the inner corner of the eye as well.
8. With your fingers, gently pat kid-friendly gel glitter inside the black outlines on the wings.
9. To form the butterfly's body, begin by drawing a black oval above the nose using an eyeliner pencil.
10. Starting from the bottom of that oval, draw a long narrow teardrop shape all the way down to the nose tip.
11. Above the oval, sketch two lines on the forehead that curl at the ends to mimic antennae.
12. Complete the makeup with sparkly pink lips: apply pink lipstick, then place a dot of glitter in the center of the lips for shine.
