This recipe guides you through creating two types of Halloween treats: shaped popcorn balls and pressed bars. You will combine popped popcorn with chopped Halloween Oreos, coat them in a melted butter and marshmallow mixture tinted with green food coloring, and decorate with candy corn and eyes. The instructions cover forming individual balls and pressing the mixture into a pan for slicing.
Ingredients
Directions
- Remove any unpopped kernels from the popcorn, then toss the popped corn with the chopped Halloween Oreos in a large mixing bowl.
- Place a saucepan over medium heat and combine the butter with the entire bag of marshmallows, stirring until the mixture becomes smooth and fully melted.
- Stir in the green food coloring until the mixture is evenly tinted, then pour it over the popcorn and cookie crumbles, tossing gently to coat everything.
- Let the mixture cool slightly until it is safe to handle, then use buttered hands to shape the mixture into twelve round balls.
- Gently press candy corn and candy eyes onto the sides of each ball to create a spooky decoration.
- Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan, then press the remaining popcorn mixture firmly into the pan.
- Top the pressed mixture with additional candy corn and candy eyes, allow it to cool completely, and then cut into twelve bars with a sharp knife.
