Directions
- Cut a hole in the bottom of each pumpkin with a large kitchen knife to keep the stem and top intact for a neat look. Scoop out the insides and scrape the walls clean.
- Print the flame template and press it smoothly against the side of the pumpkin, securing it with tape so it doesn't shift.
- Use a poking or dotting tool to jab holes along the template lines, transferring the design through the paper into the pumpkin's outer layer.
- With a thin woodcutting knife or pumpkin-carving saw, cut along the perforated lines to carve out the flame shapes. Push the cut sections from the inside to remove them.
- Repeat the carving process for each pumpkin you want to feature flames.
- Place a candle inside the bottom of each pumpkin. If the fit is loose, use toothpicks to hold the candle in place.
