Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at hgtv.com.
This DIY project shows you how to build a giant candy corn piñata using poster board, flour paste, tissue paper, and templates. You'll construct the frame by taping together poster board strips around two candy corn cutouts, then cover it with paper mache and decorate with yellow, orange, and white tissue paper.
You'll need
Directions
- Print two copies of the template (8 pages total) and tape them together to form two large candy corn outlines. Cut out the outlines, then place each one on a piece of poster board, securing with small pieces of tape. Trace around the outlines, remove the templates, and cut the candy corn shapes from the poster board.
- On another sheet of poster board, measure and cut two strips that are 3 inches wide and as long as the poster board. Place the strips end to end to create one long strip, and secure the seam with tape on both sides. Starting at the pointed tip of one candy corn shape, attach the strip by pressing it against the edge and applying tape every 2 to 3 inches. Overlap the ends of the strip at the top of the candy corn and secure the overlap with tape.
