Directions
- Review all the safety guidelines from earlier. If you skipped them, go back and read them now.
- Set up in a well-ventilated spot. Place the small bowl upside down in the bottom of your large punch bowl. This creates a pedestal that lifts the glass bowl and leaves room underneath for smoke to flow.
- Position the heat-proof glass bowl on top of the small bowl inside the punch bowl. Make sure there's a gap between the glass bowl and the punch bowl all around.
- Using long tongs (and gloves/goggles if you wish), drop small dry ice pebbles into the gap around the glass bowl. We used about 15 pieces to circle ours; the number depends on your bowl size. Avoid getting any dry ice into the glass bowl—that's where the punch goes.
- Gently pour your prepared punch into the glass bowl. Our favorite recipe combines sherbert and ginger ale for extra bubbles and foam that fit the witch's brew theme perfectly.
- To make the smoking effect, slowly pour 2–3 cups of water over the dry ice. Get ready for your guests to be amazed!
