Create a spooky, kid-friendly vampire drink that oozes fake blood right before their eyes!
Our own summary of the original by Melissa — the full post and photos live at kidfriendlythingstodo.com.
This fun Halloween beverage uses lemon-lime soda, cherry Kool-Aid concentrate, and ice to create a dramatic bloody effect. Kids insert a syringe filled with red syrup into their drink, and the carbonation pulls the color out, making it look like real blood seeping through the ice.
Ingredients
Directions
- Pour some of the cherry Kool-Aid liquid concentrate into a small bowl.
- Fill plastic medicine syringes with about 2 ml of the concentrate each.
- Pack each glass or cup with ice cubes.
- Pour the lemon-lime soda into the ice-filled glasses.
- Place vampire fangs on top of the ice or drape them over the rim of the cup.
- Give each child one syringe filled with 2 ml of Kool-Aid concentrate or grenadine syrup per glass of soda.
- Kids should simply insert the syringe tip into the drink without squeezing; the carbonation will naturally draw the red concentrate out, creating a bloody effect as it seeps through the ice.
