These brownies use an 18.3-ounce chewy fudge mix and 1½ cups of chopped Halloween candy. After baking, frozen candy pieces are pressed onto the hot brownies for a crunchy contrast. Let them cool fully before slicing for the best texture.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Scatter the bite-sized candy pieces onto a plate or small baking tray and place them in the freezer.
  2. Set your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, coconut oil, eggs, and cold water, whisking until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle the dark chocolate chips over the top.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, testing with a toothpick inserted in the center—it should come out mostly clean.
  6. Take the frozen candy pieces out of the freezer and immediately press them onto the hot brownies as soon as you remove them from the oven, while the chocolate chips are still melted.
  7. Let the brownies cool completely before cutting and serving.
