This simple recipe transforms extra Halloween candy into soft, chewy cookies. Using a boxed yellow cake mix as the base, you just mix in eggs and oil, then stir in chopped candy. Bake until the edges are golden for a quick treat that uses up holiday leftovers.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Set your oven to 350°F and prepare two baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
  2. Cut your Halloween candy into small, bite-size chunks.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, canola oil, and eggs, mixing until smooth.
  4. Add 1 ½ cups of the chopped candy to the batter and stir until the pieces are evenly mixed in.
  5. Using a large scoop (about 3 tablespoons per cookie), drop portions of dough onto the lined baking sheets, leaving about 2 ½ inches between each.
  6. Press the remaining half cup of candy pieces into the tops of each dough ball.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are just lightly golden brown.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a couple of minutes, then move them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
