Turn a simple 9x9 inch brownie into a monster masterpiece by piping on green, orange, and purple frosting "hair" using a Wilton tip 233. Finish with royal icing eyes, bone sprinkles, and festive fondant for a Halloween dessert that's as fun to make as it is to eat.
Ingredients
Directions
- Begin with a 9x9 inch square brownie, whether store-bought, from a box mix, or homemade.
- Prepare or purchase 1.5 pounds of frosting, such as Italian meringue buttercream, marshmallow buttercream, or a store-bought variety.
- Divide the frosting equally among three separate bowls.
- Use food gel coloring to tint one bowl green, one orange, and one purple, adding drops until you achieve your desired shade.
- Spoon each colored frosting into its own piping bag fitted with a Wilton tip 233.
- Pipe the frosting onto the top of the brownie in a zigzag or spiral pattern, releasing pressure as you lift the bag away to create hair-like strands.
- Continue piping until the entire top of the brownie is completely covered with frosting.
- Finish by attaching royal icing eyes, bone-shaped sprinkles, and pieces of colored fondant or candy for an eerie decoration.
