Monster cookies are a fun, loaded treat combining creamy peanut butter, oats, and a rainbow of M&Ms and chocolate chips. The dough is scooped into balls (standard or jumbo) and baked until golden at the edges, with soft centers that set as they cool. Perfect for Halloween or any cookie craving.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Set your oven to 350°F. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, salt, and rolled oats in a small bowl; put aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar with an electric mixer for 1–2 minutes until creamy. Then mix in the peanut butter, vanilla extract, and egg until combined.
  3. Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture, mixing on low speed or by hand just until incorporated. Fold in the mini M&Ms and chocolate chips by hand. The dough will be thick.
  4. Scoop the dough into balls using a cookie scoop. Place them on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat. If desired, press extra M&Ms and chocolate chips onto the tops. For standard cookies, use a 2-tablespoon (1-ounce) scoop; for jumbo cookies, use a 4-tablespoon (2-ounce) scoop.
  5. Bake the standard-size dough balls for 10–13 minutes and the jumbo ones for 13–15 minutes, or until the edges just start turning golden. The centers will look slightly underdone but will continue to firm up as they cool. Let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheet.
