Directions
- Print the haunted house template on the specified paper color for each page, then carefully cut out every piece.
- On a sheet of white construction paper or cardstock, use a yellow oil pastel to draw a big circle for the moon.
- Add an orange pastel outline around the moon to create a spooky glowing effect.
- Gently rub the yellow and orange pastels with your fingertips to blend them together.
- Fill the rest of the paper with purple oil pastels, starting with deep purples and pinks, and let the colors merge as you go.
- Shift to lighter purples and pinks near the top of the page to make a gradient.
- Use your fingers to softly smudge and blend all the sky colors until the background looks suitably eerie.
- Draw a black pastel border around the entire paper edge.
- Glue the cut-out fence pieces along the bottom of the paper.
- Place the haunted house on top of the fence and glue it in place.
- Position the bat cutouts against the dark sky and glue them down.
- Attach the doors and windows to the haunted house with glue.
- If desired, add ghostly figures to complete the scene.
