These Oreo pumpkin treats are made by dipping cookies in orange candy melts, topping with a green M&M stem, and piping jack-o-lantern faces with yellow candy melts. They're perfect for Halloween parties or trick-or-treat bags and are easy to make in batches.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place a sheet of wax paper on a baking sheet or cutting board.
  2. Put half the bag of orange candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth, but be careful because the candy can burn easily. Depending on your microwave, it might only need 1 minute 30 seconds.
  3. Take one Oreo at a time and submerge it in the melted orange candy. First coat the bottom, then flip it over to cover the top. Using a fork makes this easier.
  4. Use the fork to lift the Oreo out of the candy, gently tap it against the bowl's rim to remove extra coating, then set it on the wax paper.
  5. Place one green M&M on top of each Oreo as the stem. Continue until all cookies are done.
  6. Allow the candies to harden fully. It's best to work with half the bag of melts at once so the candy doesn't set before you finish.
  7. Put 10 yellow candy melts in a resealable sandwich bag (leave it open). Microwave on high for 10 seconds. Press and squeeze the bag to melt the candy, putting it back in for 5-second bursts if needed. Keep kneading until the candy is fully smooth with no lumps.
  8. Cut a small corner off the bag to create a piping tip. Use it to draw jack-o-lantern faces on the cookies, then let them dry completely.
