This craft transforms a paper lunch bag into a bat using black paint, cardstock wings and ears, googly eyes, and a chalk marker mouth. Kids can add or omit the white teeth to control how scary the bat looks. It's a simple, mess-friendly project perfect for Halloween decorating.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Paint the front side of a paper lunch bag with black paint, then set it aside until fully dry.
  2. From black cardstock, cut two bat wings and two triangle-shaped ears. From white cardstock, cut two small teeth.
  3. Once the painted bag is dry, attach the wings to the sides, the ears to the top, and glue on two googly eyes.
  4. Use a white chalk marker to draw a mouth on the bag, then glue the white teeth onto the mouth. For a friendlier bat, kids can skip the teeth.
