This section of the Minecraft party tutorial series focuses on the visual and take-home elements of the event. It provides instructions for creating themed decorations, setting up tables with centerpieces, designing custom banners, and preparing party favors or bags for guests.
About this
The third installment of a Minecraft party tutorial series on Frugal Frights and Delights, focused on decorations. The post walks through table decorations and previews the other decorating elements it covers: centerpieces, banners, and favors/bags. It also notes that the entire family was recruited to help with decorations and favors, and references the earlier parts that covered a 3D Pin the Tail on the Minecraft Pig game and the gaming trailer with the party schedule/plan for over 45 guests.
The plan
- Enlist the entire family to help with decorations and favors.
- Plan the decorations in four areas: tables, centerpieces, banners, and favors/bags.
- Scale the party plan for an event of more than 45 people.
- Download the free printables for invitations and Minecraft skins linked in the earlier parts of the series.
Decoration ideas
- Use simple throwaway green plastic tablecloths to cover the party tables.
- Optional upgrade: add large black squares for eyes, nose and mouth so the green tablecloth reads as a giant Creeper face — skipped here because the table was already crowded.
- Print Minecraft labels and tag every dish of food with them.
- Serve food in Minecraft-themed food containers.
- Top the tables with 3D table toppers.
- Make Creeper and Endermen figures out of packs of gum; these double as favors.
- Decorate with centerpieces, banners, and favors/bags in addition to the table setup.
Food & drink
- Set out many dishes of food, each labeled with a printed Minecraft label.
- Present the food in Minecraft-themed food containers.
Activities
- Play Pin the Tail on the Minecraft Pig in a 3D version (from part one of the series).
- Set up a gaming trailer (from part two of the series).
- Follow the party schedule/plan designed for an event of over 45 people (from part two).
