Start with a classic peanut butter cookie base, then shape into spooky spiders. After baking, add a milk dud body, candy eyes, and chocolate legs for a fun Halloween treat.
Ingredients
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, beat together 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, 1/2 cup softened butter, and 1 egg with an electric mixer on medium speed (or stir by hand) until well blended. Mix in 1.5 cups flour, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in extra granulated sugar. Place them 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are browned. Use a small spoon to press an indent into the center of each cookie. Let cool on a wire rack.
- Once completely cool, pipe a small amount of melted chocolate into the center indent. Press a milk dud (whopper ball) onto the chocolate. Use more melted chocolate to attach two candy eyes and draw eight legs radiating from the body.
- Let the chocolate harden and cool completely before enjoying.
