You'll need
Directions
- Get the free puffy ghost printable template, or sketch your own ghost shape on cardstock.
- Carefully cut out the ghost shape. If a child is handling the scissors, don't worry about perfection—the cotton balls will cover any uneven edges.
- Apply Elmer’s liquid school glue to the ghost and press on cotton balls, leaving minimal gaps for a fluffy appearance.
- From black construction paper, cut out eyes and a mouth. Experiment with different expressions to show emotions like happy, sad, or surprised. Use this as a chance to chat with kids about feelings and what facial features match each mood. For an extra activity, encourage them to invent a story about why the ghost feels that way, then write it on the back for a keepsake.
- Glue the paper eyes and mouth onto the ghost. You might end up with a spooked ghost and a cheerful one waving hello.
- Optional: Tape a piece of black yarn to the back of the finished ghost and hang it on a wall or doorknob for Halloween decor.
