Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at intheplayroom.co.uk.
This craft uses plastic lids, tissue paper, and pipe cleaners to create colorful suncatchers. Kids can make either pumpkins or apples by choosing appropriate tissue colors and shaping stems. Finished projects are easy to hang with ribbon for window display.
You'll need
Directions
- For each suncatcher, trim a circle of colored tissue paper and adhere it inside a plastic lid using a glue stick. If making apples, choose either red or green as the main color and add a small piece of the opposite shade to create depth.
- After the tissue is secured, snip a green pipe cleaner to the desired length for the stem and fasten it with clear tape. For pumpkins, coil the pipe cleaner into a spiral to form a curly stem.
- Measure and cut a length of ribbon, then attach it to the back of the lid with clear tape so the suncatcher can be hung in a window.
- Using green paper (or plain paper colored green with a marker), cut out one small leaf shape per suncatcher. Affix a leaf at the base of each stem using double-sided tape.
