These monster brownies start with a 9-inch square brownie base. The top is covered in green, orange, and purple frosting piped to look like wild hair, then decorated with royal icing eyes and fun sprinkles. Perfect for Halloween parties!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Begin with a 9-by-9-inch brownie square. It can be store-bought, from a box mix, or homemade using your preferred recipe.
  2. Prepare 1½ pounds of frosting. Options include Italian meringue buttercream, marshmallow buttercream, or purchased frosting.
  3. Divide the frosting equally among three bowls.
  4. Tint each bowl with food gel coloring: one green, one orange, and one purple. Add color gradually until the desired shade is achieved.
  5. Transfer each colored frosting into its own piping bag fitted with a Wilton tip 233.
  6. Pipe the frosting onto the brownie surface, releasing pressure as you lift the bag upward to form spiky "hair" tufts.
  7. Keep piping until the whole brownie top is coated in frosting.
  8. Finish by attaching royal icing eyes, bone-shaped sprinkles, and colored fondant pieces or candies.
