These Rice Krispie Treat Pumpkins are a fun and festive Halloween snack. Made with butter, marshmallows, and Rice Krispies, they're tinted orange with food coloring and topped with a Mini Rolo stem and green M&M leaf. Easy to make and perfect for parties.
Ingredients
Directions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.
- Add the bag of marshmallows (about 40) and stir until fully melted and smooth with the butter.
- Take the pot off the heat. Add a few drops of yellow food coloring and mix, then add red food coloring one drop at a time, stirring after each, until you get the orange shade you want (roughly 4 drops red and 12 drops yellow). Mix thoroughly.
- Stir in the 6 cups of Rice Krispies until well coated.
- Generously coat your hands with cooking oil or melted butter (keep a small bowl handy). Roll the mixture into small balls and place them on parchment paper. Reapply oil or butter to your hands after each ball.
- While the balls are still warm, gently press a Mini Rolo into the top of each for the stem, and place a green M&M next to it as the leaf. If the balls cool too much, use the end of a thick marker or an apple corer to make a small indent for the chocolate.
- Let the pumpkins cool until firm.
