- Get your oven ready by heating it to 350°F.
- Combine the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder in a mixing bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened butter and sugar until creamy. Then beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Slowly incorporate the flour mixture into the butter mixture, stirring until a dough comes together.
- Shape the dough into small balls, place them on a baking sheet, and gently flatten each one.
- Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, then allow them to cool completely.
- To finish, push candy eyes and pretzel sticks into the cooled cookies to create spider faces and legs.
