Ingredients
Directions
- Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the butter and both sugars together on medium-high speed for about 2 minutes until creamy. If desired, add a few drops of black food coloring and mix until evenly colored.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, then beat for another 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure everything is incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Pour in the milk and mix briefly. Then fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie, roll into balls, and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Gently press candy eyeballs into the top of each dough ball.
- Bake for approximately 11 minutes. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
