These Halloween monster eye brownies start with a rich dark chocolate base, baked until perfectly fudgy. Once cooled, each brownie is dipped in melted chocolate and topped with candy eyeballs and festive sprinkles for a creepy-cute finish. Perfect for parties or a frightful dessert table.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Set the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches of overhang on two sides.
  2. Combine dark chocolate and melted butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on full power for 3 seconds. Whisk continuously until smooth and fully combined. Set aside about 1/2 cup of this mixture in a separate bowl.
  3. To the remaining chocolate mixture, add brown sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla extract, and kosher salt. Fold gently with a rubber spatula until just combined.
  4. Sift together the all-purpose flour and baking powder, then fold into the batter until incorporated. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes to reach room temperature.
  7. Cut the brownies into evenly sized squares. Dip each square into the reserved melted chocolate, then place on a wire rack set over parchment paper. While the chocolate is still wet, decorate with candy eyeballs and orange and black sprinklers. Serve once the chocolate sets.
