- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, water, and a pinch of salt. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until you get a smooth, slightly whipped batter. Chill the mixture in the fridge for 30 to 45 minutes.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and shape the chilled dough into uniform-sized balls.
- If your candy decorations can withstand heat, press them into the balls of batter. Bake for about 9 to 11 minutes. Let the cookies cool on the tray.
- For candies that need to be added post-baking, wait about 5 minutes for the cookies to cool. Press the candies into the cookies while they're still warm. If you're unsure if everything will stay in place, skip the candies and frost the cooled cookies, then press the sprinkles and eyes into the frosting.
- Store the cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze them for a couple of months.
