These Witch Marshmallow Cereal Treats feature a chocolate-dipped sugar cone witch hat with a purple trim, perched on a green-tinted rice krispie head. The hats are made by forming chocolate brims and coating cones, then attaching them to cereal balls with melted chocolate. A fun, no-bake treat perfect for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Melt the 24 ounces of chocolate candy wafers according to the package instructions.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Dip the tip of a sugar cone into the melted chocolate and press it onto the parchment to create a circle stencil. Repeat to make 7 circles, spacing them apart.
  3. Spoon a small amount of melted chocolate onto each circle stencil. Use the back of the spoon to spread the chocolate into a larger circle, forming the brim of the witch hat. Let the chocolate cool and harden completely.
  4. Dip each sugar cone into the melted chocolate, using the back of a spoon to coat evenly. Place the coated cones on parchment paper to harden.
  5. Once the chocolate on the cones is hard, melt the 2 cups of purple chocolate candy wafers according to package directions. Dip each cone into the purple chocolate, then press it onto a chocolate circle brim. Let dry completely.
  6. While the hats dry, make the witch heads: Melt 6 tablespoons of butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add 20 ounces of marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth. Stir in a few drops of green food coloring.
  7. Add the box of rice krispie cereal (12 or 14 oz) and stir until well combined.
  8. While the mixture is still warm, butter your hands. Scoop out some cereal mixture and roll into a ball slightly smaller than your fist. Place on parchment paper to cool. Repeat to make 7 balls.
  9. To assemble, use a little melted chocolate as glue to attach a witch head (cereal ball) to each witch hat. Set aside until the chocolate hardens.
