These bubbling witch's cauldron brownies start with a boxed mix baked in a mini muffin pan. After creating a well in each brownie, fill with green buttercream and decorate with nonpareils and a pretzel stick stirrer. Perfect for Halloween parties!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat the oven and prepare the brownie batter according to the package instructions.
  2. Coat a mini muffin tin with nonstick spray. Fill each cup about two-thirds full with batter.
  3. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center emerges clean.
  4. Take the pan out of the oven and press a half-tablespoon measure into each brownie to form a well. Let them cool completely before removing from the tin.
  5. For the frosting, cream the softened butter with an electric mixer for about 30 seconds until smooth. Slowly add the powdered sugar and beat until combined. Tint with green food coloring and mix thoroughly.
  6. Drop a dollop of green buttercream into each brownie well. Use the back of the spoon to swirl and create wispy peaks.
  7. Sprinkle large and small green nonpareils onto the buttercream. For a bubbling-over effect, let some frosting drip down the side of the brownie and add sprinkles there.
  8. Insert a broken pretzel stick into each cauldron to resemble a stirrer.
  9. Serve immediately or keep at room temperature if eating the same day; otherwise store in an airtight container until needed.
