These candy corn inspired Halloween cookies are actually meringue drops piped in festive yellow and orange stripes. The low-and-slow oven method creates light, crispy cookies that look just like the iconic candy. Perfect for Halloween parties or a fun baking project.

- Set your oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit to preheat.
- Take a brown paper bag and cut it into pieces that will cover the surface of two baking sheets.
- In a mixing bowl, combine egg whites, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat the mixture until it becomes frothy and soft peaks start to develop.
- Keep beating the egg whites while gradually adding the sugar one spoonful at a time.
- Continue beating until all the sugar is incorporated and stiff peaks form.
- Using a pastry brush or a spoon, coat the inside of a piping bag with stripes of yellow and orange food coloring.
- Fill the piping bag with the meringue mixture, then pipe small cookie shapes onto the paper-lined baking sheets.
- Place the sheets in the oven and bake for 40 minutes. Then turn off the heat, crack the oven door, and let the cookies cool completely before removing them.
