Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at amandascookin.com.
These Halloween broomsticks combine string cheese and pretzel sticks, with chive ties for broom bristles. Each cheese stick is cut into thirds, fringed at the bottom, and topped with a pretzel handle. A perfect no-bake treat for parties or lunchboxes.
Ingredients
Directions
- Take each of the 3 string cheese sticks and cut them into 3 equal pieces, giving you 9 small cheese blocks.
- Using a knife, make several thin vertical cuts about halfway up each cheese piece, creating a bristle-like fringe at the bottom while leaving the top solid.
- Wrap a chive tightly around the cheese just above the fringe, tying it in a double knot. Snip off any excess chive, being gentle to avoid breaking it.
- Insert a pretzel stick into the top of the cheese base. If the pretzel cracks or pushes the cheese apart, first poke a small hole with a toothpick to guide it in.
