This guide shows you how to decorate glazed doughnuts with plastic fangs, candy eyes or gel, and red gel to look like dripping blood, creating a fun and festive Halloween snack.
Ingredients
Directions
- Hold a pair of the plastic fangs together.
- Position the closed fangs in the middle of a glazed doughnut, then let them spring open. Adjust them slightly to ensure a snug fit, and transfer the finished treat to a platter.
- Continue this process with the rest of the pastries and fang pairs until you have created a full set of vampire treats.
- Dampen the adhesive side of two mini candy eyes and press them onto the doughnut to secure them. Alternatively, if you are using decorating gels, squeeze two drops of white gel onto the pastry, then add a tiny dot of black gel in the center of each white drop.
- Squeeze red decorating gel around the fangs to create a dripping blood effect.
- Optionally, use black gel to add a widow's peak to the top of each doughnut or to a few of them for variety.
- Let the decorations set for approximately 20 minutes before serving.
