DIY Halloween Game - Glowing Ghost!
Turn empty milk jugs into a glowing ghost ring-toss game that kids will love!
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at carnivalsavers.com.
This DIY Halloween game transforms milk jugs into glowing ghosts using battery-operated lights. Players toss hula hoops at the lined-up ghosts, trying to ring them in order for prizes. It’s simple to set up and fun for all ages.
Directions
- Clean empty milk jugs and peel off labels. Use a black permanent marker to draw spooky but friendly ghost faces on each one.
- Pick only the white mini lights that run on batteries. Place one light behind each jug, attaching it to the bottom of the handle with clear packing tape, with the light pointing into the jug.
- Pour water into the jugs to keep them stable; you don't need to put the caps back on.
- Arrange the glowing ghosts in a straight line, spacing them about 1½ to 2 feet apart.
- Mark a throwing line using cones, sidewalk chalk, or masking tape. Let younger kids stand closer to the ghosts.
- Give each player four small hula hoops. They must try to ring the closest ghost first, then move on to the next in order.
- If a player fails to hoop the first ghost, they must keep trying that one before they can attempt the others.
- For prizes: hooping all four ghosts wins a top prize; two or three ghosts wins a middle prize; one or zero ghosts wins a consolation prize.
