You'll need
Directions
- Prepare the paper: If using white paper, spray with acrylic paint mixed with water to achieve the desired color (e.g., orange). Alternatively, use pre-colored yellow paper.
- Fold the paper around a stiff base (like a book or carton) to create the lantern shape. Ensure the paper overlaps and is large/deep enough to fit a tea light in a glass container inside.
- Fold the bottom of the paper bag as if wrapping a gift.
- Decorate the lanterns (optional): Paint black bats using a template, glue on letters, or use autumn leaves to create light imprints.
- Pour sand into the bottom of each bag to weigh it down so it does not blow away.
- Place a tea light in a glass container or a grave candle inside the lantern. Note: Do not use indoors due to fire risk.
