This easy Halloween punch features a dramatic layered look with orange juice and grenadine. The glasses get a black sanding sugar rim, and each is topped with a licorice spider that dangles from a straw. It's a fun, non-alcoholic treat perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Create spider decorations by cutting thin black licorice ropes into pieces 3 to 4 inches long for the legs. Gather several pieces together and tie them in the center with another long licorice strand.
  2. To make a black-rimmed glass, place a strip of tape around the glass about 1/2 inch from the top. Brush corn syrup over the exposed top 1/2 inch of the glass, then roll it in black sanding sugar. Carefully remove the tape.
  3. For the layered drink, start by pouring a small amount of grenadine syrup into the bottom of the glass. Add ice cubes until the glass is full, then pour in orange juice to fill the glass. Finish by adding a splash more grenadine on top.
  4. To garnish, insert the end of the long licorice strand (the one tied around each spider) into the top of a straw. Place the straw into the glass so that the licorice spider dangles from the straw.
