This fox makeup tutorial uses foundation and face paint to create the characteristic two-tone face, followed by dramatic smoky eyes, a detailed nose and mouth, and finishing touches like freckles and lashes. The result is a playful yet striking Halloween look.
Directions
- First, use your usual foundation to cover your entire face. This creates a smooth base and helps the rest of the makeup last longer.
- Take white face paint and a makeup sponge, then apply it to the lower half of your face, following your cheekbone curve to achieve a fox-like shape.
- Next, pick a darker foundation shade and put it on the upper half of your face.
- With a fluffy brush, dust an orange eyeshadow or bronzer over the darker foundation to set it.
- Add another coat of white face paint to the bottom half of your face.
- Use a small brush and brown eyeshadow to outline the nose. Start at the brow and pull a line down toward your nostril.
- With the same brush and shadow, apply color under your eyes and on the lids, then blend.
- Dark eyes are essential for a fox look. Use a shadow brush and black eyeshadow on your lids, then blend to soften edges.
- Take a thinner brush and pull the eye corners outward and down toward your tear duct. Blend the edges further.
- For bigger-looking eyes, line your lower waterline with white eyeliner.
- Also apply black eyeshadow along your lower lash line with a small brush, then blend with a larger brush.
- Continue blending until you get a soft smoky effect.
- With a fine brush and brown eyeshadow, sketch long, wispy strokes on your brows to make them appear fluffier.
- Use a black eyeliner crayon to draw the fox nose.
- Using the same crayon, draw a line from the nose down to the mouth. Then line your upper lip, extending the corners outward and upward for a grin.
- Take a smaller eyeliner pencil and add tiny freckle dots.
- Coat both your upper and lower lashes with mascara.
- Extend the dark foundation down your neck, but leave the center white to continue the fox look.
- Finally, apply false lashes and use black liquid liner to line your inner eyes.
