From the original

It is Halloween, which means it is once again time for trick-or-treating. Garfield brings Odie along in the hope of collecting twice as much candy. The two dress as pirates using old costumes they found in the attic and quietly blend into a group of children. They soon finish the whole neighborhood, but Garfield wants more. Noticing more houses on the other side of the river, he and Odie row across in a rowboat. They lose the oars, however, and drift downstream until they stop at a small harbor where a haunted house stands. When they enter the house they meet an old man who tells them that the ghosts of a group of pirates will come to the house to collect a treasure buried there 100 years earlier. Before Garfield and Odie can flee, the man takes off in their boat. At midnight the ghost pirates indeed appear and find Garfield and Odie. The two run away and dive into the river. Garfield nearly drowns, but Odie drags him to the shore, where they find their boat with their candy still in it. They row home, and Garfield gives Odie a share of the haul as thanks.
