Our own summary of the original by Life in the Lofthouse — the full post and photos live at life-in-the-lofthouse.com.
These ghost brownies are a fun and easy Halloween dessert. Start with boxed or homemade brownies, top with marshmallows, then coat with white frosting. Use an edible marker or gel to draw cute ghost faces before serving.
Ingredients
Directions
- Prepare the brownies as directed on the package using water, oil, and egg. Once baked, let them cool completely, then slice into 16 equal squares.
- Place one large marshmallow on top of each brownie square.
- Put the white frosting in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 10 to 12 seconds. Stir well. Spoon enough frosting over each marshmallow to cover it entirely. Allow the frosting to set for about 2 minutes.
- Use a black edible marker to draw two small circles for eyes and a larger circle for a mouth on each marshmallow. If you have black decorating gel, pipe two dots for eyes and a circle for a mouth instead. Serve immediately.
