From the original

Halloween (2018) is a US horror film directed by David Gordon Green and a direct sequel to the 1978 classic Halloween – Die Nacht des Grauens; it is the eleventh entry in the Halloween franchise but ignores every earlier sequel. Forty years after Michael Myers killed three people in Haddonfield, Illinois on Halloween night, he remains locked in the Smith's Grove Warren County Sanatorium. Journalists Aaron Korey and Dana Haines visit him and later interview survivor Laurie Strode, who lives in isolation on a fortified ranch, estranged from her daughter Karen and trained for a possible rematch. While being transferred on Halloween eve, Myers escapes when the bus crashes, kills several people, obtains his overalls and mask, and returns to Haddonfield to resume killing. Allyson, Karen's daughter, is drawn into the night's violence as Michael's psychologist Dr. Sartain turns on the police before Michael kills him. Laurie, Karen and Allyson finally trap Michael in the hidden panic room beneath the kitchen, flood it with gas and set the house alight while Laurie says goodbye to him. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 8 September 2018 and opened in US and German cinemas on 25 October 2018.
