From the original

Set in 2018, forty years after Michael Myers's 1978 killing spree, the film follows Laurie Strode, who has spent decades preparing for his return while struggling with trauma and a strained relationship with her daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson. When Myers escapes during a transfer from Smith's Grove, podcasters and Haddonfield residents fall victim as he reclaims his mask. Michael's obsessed psychiatrist Dr. Sartain orchestrates the escape to study him, killing Deputy Hawkins and several others. Laurie finally confronts Michael in her fortified home; with Karen and Allyson she traps him in a safe room and sets the house ablaze, though a post-credits sound of breathing implies he survived.
