These Halloween brownies start with a rich chocolate base made from melted butter and chips. A bright orange cream cheese layer is spread on top, then studded with crushed Oreos and festive M&M's. Bake until set, cool, and slice for a fun, festive treat.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, melt the butter and semisweet chocolate chips together in the microwave. Heat for 30 seconds, stir, then heat another 30 seconds and stir until completely smooth.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour, white sugar, brown sugar, Dutch process cocoa, and salt until combined.
  3. Stir the large eggs and vanilla extract into the melted butter and chocolate mixture until well incorporated.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spoon or spatula, mixing just until no dry streaks remain.
  5. Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or spray it with cooking spray. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with 1 egg and ¼ cup sugar until smooth. Add orange food coloring and mix until the mixture turns bright orange.
  7. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter in the pan. Sprinkle the broken Oreo cookies and Halloween M&M Goul mix (purple, green, and orange M&M's) on top.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment paper. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack for about 30 minutes before slicing.
